We recently had a chance to speak with the2008 Miss New York Teen USA, Sana Idnani. Sana moved one step closer to her dream of becoming a television anchor when she made a recent appearance on CW11! Read more about the pageant and be sure to watch for Sana as she represents New York in the Miss Teen USA pageant this summer. Good Luck Sana!

Why were you interested in entering Miss New York Teen USA?
I was always fascinated with pageants since I was a little girl, but I never got the chance to participate in one until now. Also, I knew this would be a great chance for me to build my confidence and be comfortable with public speaking. My future plan is to be a TV anchor and public speaking is one of the biggest components of this career.

Were you nervous during the pageant?
I was not nervous during the swimsuit and evening gown competition, but I was a little
apprehensive before my interview. At the end I realized that the interview was actually the easiest part because you get to show the judges your true personality.

What are some facts about the pageant that you'd want other girls to know?
I would want other girls to know that this is an incredible experience where dreams come true. Also, it is very important to be comfortable in your own skin. If you believe in yourself and are determined than you will succeed.

What is your favorite memory from the Miss New York Teen USA pageant?
My favorite memory was when I got into the Top 5.They called 4 girls and my name was still not
called, so when they announced that I was the last girl in the top five I wanted to jump with joy.

In one word how would you describe yourself?  Positive

What are your favorite social activities  on the weekend?
On the weekend I love to spend time with my friends and family.

How were you able to balance school  responsibilities while preparing for the pageant?

This was a difficult task because I was doing college applications and preparing for the SAT's . I still made sure I left time to prepare for the pageant. I had no time for social activities but it was worth it!

How do you believe the pageant will help you in the future?

This pageant will help me gain more confidence and be more comfortable in front of people. As I mentioned before, I would love to be a TV anchor and the pageant is a great opportunity that will
help me grow.

What are some of your hobbies/interests?
I love to go to the gym because it relaxes me. I also do fashion shows, visit the animal shelter (wishing I could take all of them home), and traveling to different places around the world.

What 5 CD s are you currently listening to?
I am currently listening to Boys Like Girls,Fall Out  Boy, Britney Spears, DJ Tiesto, and Rihanna.

Where would you like to be in ten years from now?
In ten years from now I would like to be on channel CW11 as a news anchor.

What are some of your duties/activities as Miss New York Teen USA?
I was recently crowned, and I am learning my responsibilities as Miss New York Teen USA. I recently had an interview on CW11,and I want to visit nursing homes as well as participate in various charity events

What career do you want to pursue?
I want to be a well-known successful TV anchor.

Are you attending your prom this year? If so, are you excited?
